Rare Disease Center Introduction

The Rare Disease Center for the Jeonbuk Region was established to provide the best professional medical services to more than 10,000 patients (and their families) in the province suffering from rare diseases.
Patients with rare diseases previously had to seek diagnosis by visiting numerous hospitals and going through endlessly repetitive tests, without knowing the causes of their diseases due to the lack of a specialized treatment institution. In addition, even if diagnosis was made, they had to search and visit various hospitals themselves to receive surgery or rehabilitation services. However, Jeonbuk National University Hospital now provides an integrated treatment center for diagnosis and treatment of patients with rare diseases, and provides comprehensive medical services including regular cultivation of professional personnel and education for patients by being selected as the rare disease center for the Jeonbuk region in ____ of this year, in accordance with the national policy for provision of support for rare diseases.
The base center for rare diseases for the Jeonbuk region is equipped with a system for exchanging treatment information for purposes of collaboration with other regional medical institutions, along with a collaboration system among its numerous medical teams including those in the Pediatrics and Youth Department, Neurology Department, Rehabilitation Medicine Department, Orthopedics Department, Rheumatism Department, and Laboratory Medicine Department for consultation and diagnosis of rare diseases across a diverse range of systems.
We shall continue to strive to be a Center that provides unsparing support for diagnosis, treatment, and management of patients with rare diseases in the Jeonbuk region.
