소아재활의학과

소아재활이란 성장과 발달이 완성되지 못한 어린 시기에 질환, 혹은 사고로 인한 장애를 갖거나 장애의 위험성이 있는 아동을 대상으로 그들의 장애를 최소화하고 연령에 맞는 발달을 할 수 있도록 도와주는 학문입니다. 재활의학과(소아재활)에서 치료하는 질환들은 발달지연, 뇌성마비(Cerebral Palsy), 척수의 형성(Myelodysplasia), 근육 이양증(Muscular Dystrophy), 외상성 뇌 손상(Traumatic Brain Injury), 기타 신경학적, 정형외과적 문제들이며, 소아치료실에서는 이러한 아동들을 대상으로 운동, 작업, 감각, 인지, 언어치료를 통하여 더 정상 발달 및 운동 발달을 촉진하고 일상생활에서 기능적 활동을 수행할 수 있도록 도와주기 위한 적절한 평가 및 치료가 이루어지고 있습니다.

The Pediatric Rehabilitation Medicine is to minimize the effects of illness or disability on children’ development, and induce normal development of children by early identifying and treating children who have developmental disorders caused by congenital and acquired diseases. These children are suffering from various childhood disorder, for example developmental delay, cerebral palsy, myelodysplasia, muscular dystrophy, traumatic brain injury, and other neurologic and orthopedic problems. Rehabilitation therapy helps normal development and appropriate motor function through physical therapy, occupational therapy, cognitive therapy, speech & language therapy and associated evaluations. The multimodal rehabilitation program optimally promotes to become an independent person in a pear group at the same time in the society.
